This one day event management workshop will give you the confidence to undertake whatever event you are responsible for organising. It will give you the essential tools to plan any event, to work effectively with project members and to ensure that the event comes in on budget - and is a great success!

Course content

  • The roles and responsibilities of an event manager
  • Planning an event by: agreeing objectives, preparing briefs, appraising proposals and carrying out risk assessments
  • Identifying your audience or particpants
  • Managing stakeholder expectations
  • Creating a timeline encompassing milestones and review points
  • Budgeting your event
  • Selecting venues and facilities
  • Marketing your event and pre-event publicity
  • Using the internet for publicity and promotion: websites, social media and email
  • Using technology for managing the process
  • Delegating tasks and responsibilities to event team members
  • Preparing contingency plans
  • Managing and motivating the event team members, monitoring progress and communicating effectively.
  • Evaluating the event

Course duration

1 day, normally between 9:30 and 4:30

In house options and costs

This course is offered as an in-house option for up to 12 delegates, either at your offices or at one of our prestigious venues. The cost of this in house course including all training materials  is £1,195 + trainer travel from our Sevenoaks office + VAT.

If you choose to use one of our venues, room  hire and catering will be charged at our specially negotiated rates. Unless stated otherwise, travel time is included in the price.
